Project Name: Stuartholme Upper Primary – Engineered Excellence
Location: Toowong, QLD
Armstrong Building proudly delivered a state-of-the-art 1,500m² facility for Stuartholme School’s Upper Primary cohort—combining architectural ambition with structural ingenuity.
Smart Design on Steep Terrain Positioned atop the school's iconic mountain block, the new building preserves vital flat space by projecting 40% of its mass over a steep embankment—creating a dramatic 9m drop beneath its footprint. This bold approach maximizes usable land while showcasing precision construction.
Design & Construct Resilience Initially a partially designed project, several complex engineering elements were entrusted to Armstrong Building under a Design and Construct scope. Despite delays during the design phase, our team implemented smart sequencing and process innovations to reclaim significant lost time—ultimately handing over the building on schedule and ready for the new school year.
A Building with Purpose Beyond its striking form, this facility delivers advanced learning environments tailored for modern education—all within an envelope that respects both the landscape and the school’s growth trajectory.
